Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat

Madekwe was born South London, England into a mixed family. Her father and mother are both English. Her family was raised on a south London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age 14. In London, she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where her acting degree was awarded. While attending the academy, she appeared in a number of stage productions such as King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career in the film Storm Damage. The actress has been an actor in Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's film debut was in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), alongside Colin Farrell. Her popularity has led her to be cast in Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in six episodes Trexx and Flipside playing the character of Ollie. Madekwe starred as the lead character in How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others, a comedic comedy that was released in 2008. Her credits in the theatre include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) as well as Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe was a part of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode series aired for just 2 weeks at The CW and then it ended.
